Giulio Rubini and Carlos Nieto have both been named in Italy's starting line-up to take on Wales in Rome on Saturday.
Winger Rubini, who has one previous cap as a replacement, comes in for Gonzalo Garcia and prop Nieto is preferred to Martin Castrogiovanni in the only two changes to the XV that lost 26-6 to Scotland on February 28.
The selection of Rubini on the flank allows Mirco Bergamasco to switch position to inside centre.
The Azzurri are still without full-back Andrea Masi, who has completed a three-match ban but has been ruled out by a neck injury.
Nick Mallett's side, who have also suffered defeats to England and Ireland, are bottom of the RBS Six Nations table and have conceded 100 points so far.
However, the South African has resisted the temptation to make wholesale changes, although uncapped centre Roberto Quartaroli is included on the bench.
