"Nothing has been signed but we have reached a verbal agreement and I'd be more than happy to stay."
Phil Vickery Quotes of the week

Vickery is one of a number of players, including England team-mates Tom Rees, Danny Cipriani and James Haskell whose contracts at Adams Park are up for renewal.

However, the 32-year-old has revealed that he is on the verge of becoming the first of the trio player to commit his future to Wasps by signing a new two-year deal.

"I have been made a very fair offer which I am perfectly satisfied with," said Vickery.

"Nothing has been signed but we have reached a verbal agreement and I'd be more than happy to stay.

"I don't know about other players' business but I sincerely hope the others who are out of contract sign as well.

"You have to be happy with what you're offered and I hope they get it sorted out. I have nothing but good to say about Wasps."
