Newport Gwent Dragons lock Luke Charteris has agreed a new three-year contract to remain at the Magners League side.

The giant forward, who stands 6ft 9in, has made nine Test appearances for Wales - and starred in the win over Canada and came off the bench against the All Blacks.

And Dragons coach Paul Turner is delighted Charteris has agreed to stay at the region until the end of the 2011-12 season.

Dragons head coach Paul Turner said: "Luke been consistently good for the region and continues to impress in the boiler-house of the second-row.

"He is a great lineout weapon with huge potential, and we are thrilled to have him here for a further three years.

"It is the time of year where recruitment talks are being held, and hopefully we will add to Luke's signing in the near future."
