Gloucester prop Nick Wood has been called into England's elite squad ahead of Saturday's clash against New Zealand.
Wood was initially included in the 32-man Saxons squad for the season, however with Andrew Sheridan a serious doubt for the final autumn international the 25-year-old loosehead has been promoted by England boss Martin Johnson.
Sheridan missed the record defeat against South Africa with a neck injury and was expected to be fine to face the All Blacks - however the Sale ace is still receiving treatment from the England medical team.
The uncapped Wood was part of the England Under-21s team that won the Grand Slam four years ago and went on to play in the World Championships.
Wood joins Ben Kay in being added to the England squad for the preparations to face New Zealand, with the Leicester lock having been added as cover for Tom Palmer on Monday.
