Buckland: On the move
London Irish have bolstered their forward resources by signing James Buckland on a two-year deal.
The former Englander Under-21 and A team hooker will arrive at the Exiles having spent the past season across the capital at London Wasps.
The 27-year-old had previously played for Leicester Tigers, where he played in three Premiership finals as well as the 2007 Heineken Cup final.
And Buckland admitted he was relishing the chance to join this season's Heineken Cup semi-finalists.
He said: "I'm really excited about my involvement with London Irish. I've been following the success the boys have had in the Heineken Cup this year and I am looking forward to playing a part in building on that momentum in the Guinness Premiership and in Europe next season."
Irish director of rugby Brian Smith believes Buckland will add valuable options to his front-row,
He said: "The demands on our front row are such that it is essential we have strength in depth in each position.
""We have to plan for international call-ups and injury and are pleased to have been able to recruit a player like James who has invaluable experience of competing at the highest level in this country and Europe."
