Bortolami: Angry at display against Quins
Italian skipper Marco Bortolami has described Gloucester's first-half display against Harlequins as "unacceptable".
Gloucester returned to Guinness Premiership action on the back of two classy displays in the Heinken Cup - however they almost came unstuck against the Quins.
Four tries during that first period had the Cherry and Whites on the ropes, only for 17 unanswered points to see them to a 27-25 victory.
And Bortolami was left fuming with Gloucester's sloppy start.
He told the Gloucestershire Echo: "It was a very disappointing start and I still don't understand why we started the game in such a bad way.
"We have to analyse our approach to the game because it was unacceptable, as a player, to start a game so badly.
"Whether we play Harlequins or another side who isn't top of the league, or in the Heineken Cup, we must play at 100 per cent.
"At the moment we're leaving things to happen. We don't put the opposition under pressure and we're becoming a normal side.
"All the leaders on the pitch - the captain (Peter Buxton), me, Mike Tindall - must understand the importance of approaching the game in the right way. And we have to take this responsibility."
