Ndungane: Injury scare

South African winger Akona Ndungane has returned home from his side's World Cup warm-up matches after being injured in the 18-3 victory over Connacht.

The 26-year-old Bulls star suffered bruising to the chest and has flown back to Cape Town for further scans.

With the World Cup set to start on September 7, Ndungane now faces a race against time to be fit for the tournament.

The Springboks, who will be less than impressed with their performance against Connacht, now head to Edinburgh for their Test match with Scotland on Saturday.
