British & Irish Lions star Gavin Henson is set to return to the Ospreys in time for next season.

HENSON HOMECOMING With Gavin Henson set to return to action in time for next season, Sky Bet believe he is a 9/2 chance to start the first game of of the 2011 Six Nations Championship against England. Henson is also 6/4 to be named in the squad for the same game, with Sky Bet RU compiler Simon McMinn saying: "It's a long road back to full fitness and international level for Henson and even then he will have a job on his hands to oust the Wales centre pairing of Jamie Roberts and James Hook." Much has been speculated over Henson's future in the game since he took unpaid leave from the Magners League club.

Rumours of Henson quitting or moving to rugby league have proved unfounded, though, with the versatile back now hoping to play before the end of 2010.

And having had time to recover from a string of injuries, the 28-year-old Wales international has confirmed he will return to training in July.

"Gavin has been honest with me all along," Ospreys chairman Mike Cuddy told the Daily Mail.

"He has told me he will be back next season and playing before the end of the year. All the injuries, especially the prolonged ones over his groin and Achilles tendon, got him down.

"He took a break and now he's feeling all the better for it."
