Julian Savea and Brodie Retallick have signed long-term deals that will keep them with New Zealand through to the 2019 World Cup.

The world champions held on to two of their prized young stars, who have opted against joining an anticipated talent drain after this year's tournament in England.

At least 10 All Blacks will take up big-money offers from overseas clubs after the World Cup finishes in the autumn.

There's always temptation, I'm not going to lie, but the black jersey means a lot to me and I want to be in it for as long as I can

Hurricanes wing Savea admitted he had considered club offers but the lure of the All Blacks proved stronger.

"There's always temptation, I'm not going to lie, but the black jersey means a lot to me and I want to be in it for as long as I can," he said.

Savea then revealed he could skip the 2016 season to play sevens at the Rio Olympics, when the shortened form of rugby will make its Olympic Games debut.

"I've got a lot of decisions to make, we're still in the process and hopefully we'll get it all sorted soon," he said.

I'm still young and still enjoying playing for the best team in the world

Chiefs second row Retallick, 23, is the current world rugby player of the year, while 24-year-old Savea is one of the game's most devastating wings, scoring 30 tries in his 33 Tests.

Retallick did not consider moving away from New Zealand and said: "I'm still young and still enjoying playing for the best team in the world."

New Zealand captain Richie McCaw and playmaker Dan Carter are among those set to leave the All Blacks squad after the World Cup, with Carter off to France's Racing Metro and McCaw likely to hang up his boots.

The player exodus includes veterans Ma'a Nonu (Toulon) and Conrad Smith (Pau), who are near the end of their international careers.

But more worryingly for New Zealand, the exodus also includes talented youngsters Frank Halai (Wasps), Charles Piutau (Ulster), Francis Saili (Munster) and Tom Taylor (Bayonne).
