Lions watch

Skysports.com rugby union writer Tony Curtis names his Lions XV based on the second weekend of the autumn internationals

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, the home unions were left licking their wounds once again after a miserable weekend.

1 Mako Vunipola (England)

Big things are expected from the Saracens prop and he did his chances of a start against South Africa the power of good with an eye-catching appearance off the bench. England's scrum looked a more potent weapon with him there.

2 Sean Cronin (Ireland)

Produced the sort of performance that will have Declan Kidney seriously considering his hooking options for the forthcoming clash with Argentina. Did everything expected of him and weighed in with a try.

3 Euan Murray (Scotland)

There is nothing Murray seems to enjoy more is a good old fashioned scrum. He quickly put Gurthro Steenkamp in his place and always put in the hard yards in the loose.

4 Donncha O'Callaghan (Ireland)

Threw down a timely reminder ahead of the forthcoming clash with Argentina. Faultless in the lineout and made some good yardage with the ball in hand.

5 Luke Charteris (Wales)

His 40-minute cameo should be enough to see him return to the starting XV to tackle the All Blacks. With Ian Evans and Bradley Davies both struggling, Charteris improved the lineout possession in the second half, while he is an impressive presence in defence.

6 Kelly Brown (Scotland)

The captain led from the front, with the Scotland back-row as a whole working well in unison. Brown tackled hard and had a hand in Pyrgos' try.

7 John Muldoon (Ireland)

Put in a solid shift for Ireland despite preferring life on the blindside. He spoiled and disrupted Fiji at the breakdown - but his night was cut short by a nasty injury.

8 Dave Denton (Scotland)

The only player to retain his spot in our line-up as he picked up from where he left off against New Zealand. Seems to have rediscovered his form and his physical presence means he naturally draws in defenders.
