The club announced that the match against Sydney Roosters will be contested at Allianz Stadium on Saturday, February 22.
The annual challenge match between the champions of the National Rugby League and Super League is being held down under for the first time since Wigan beat the Broncos in Brisbane in 1994.
Wigan coach Shaun Wane, who played in the club's 8-2 victory over Manly at Central Park in 1987, said in a statement: "It is great that the World Club Challenge returns to Australia.
"The Roosters are a champion side but we are excited about travelling to
Sydney for the game and the challenge that lies before us as we aim to be crowned world club champions for a fourth time."
The Roosters, as Eastern Suburbs, won the first World Club Challenge at Sydney Cricket Ground in June 1976, beating St Helens 25-2.
