Melbourne forward Kevin Proctor has been ruled out of this month's World Club Challenge against Leeds after sustaining a knee injury on Friday.

The 23-year-old second-rower was hurt during Storm's warm-up match in Geelong, suffering medial ligament damage against Canberra.

Proctor was a member of the Melbourne side that beat Canterbury Bulldogs in the 2012 NRL Grand Final and made his New Zealand Test debut against Australia in October.

Melbourne set off for London on Monday, ahead of their date with Leeds Rhinos at Headingley on Friday, February 22.

The Australian team have doubts over full-back Billy Slater and scrum-half Cooper Cronk, who have both withdrawn from this weekend's NRL All Stars match.
