Withers: played for Wests Tigers, St George Illawarra and Canberra in the NRL
Hooker Lincoln Withers will be staying in Super League after signing a two-year deal with Hull KR.
The Australian has spent three seasons with the Crusaders but was left facing an uncertain future when the Welsh club suddenly withdrew their application for a new licence.
"He's proven to be a quality player over a long period and will definitely be an asset to Hull KR."
Craig Sandercock Quotes of the week
However the 30-year-old has now agreed to link up with former Crusaders team-mate Ryan O'Hara at Craven Park after finalising a move with new Rovers head coach Craig Sandercock in Sydney last week.
Sandercock said: "I'm excited about the signing of Lincoln. He is an experienced player with over 200 games combined in the NRL and Super League.
"He's proven to be a quality player over a long period and will definitely be an asset to Hull KR.
"I believe he still has plenty of great rugby ahead of him and his leadership and ability to make correct decisions under pressure are excellent traits that he will bring to our club."
Withers has previously played for Wests Tigers, St George Illawarra and Canberra in the NRL.
He becomes the fourth close-season capture by Rovers - and there are still more new faces expected to arrive.
Full-back Shannon McDonnell, who has been released by Newcastle Knights, and Canterbury Bulldogs prop Micky Paea are both set to join Hull KR.
McDonnell, who played under Sandercock at the Knights for the last two seasons, was born in Sydney but holds a British passport so will not count on the Robins' overseas quota.
