Ireland prop Brett White has been cleared to face England in Saturday's World Cup Group A match at Huddersfield.

The Canberra Raiders front-rower was found guilty of a reckless high tackle on Korbin Sims during Ireland's 32-14 defeat by Fiji in Rochdale on Monday.

But the international match-review panel opted to issue the 31-year-old with a formal caution, meaning he is available to face the tournament hosts at the weekend.

A World Cup spokesman said: "The caution will remain on White's record for the duration of the tournament."

Saturday's match is important for both sides, especially Steve McNamara's England, who are expected to progress from Group A but got off to a bad start on Saturday with a 28-20 loss to favourites Australia.
