Samoa centre Tim Lafai will miss his country's opening World Cup clash with holders New Zealand in Warrington on Sunday after being handed a one-match ban.

Canterbury Bulldog Lafai was sin-binned, along with Leeds forward Brad Singleton, for punching during his side's 52-16 defeat by England Knights in Salford.

They were both charged by an international match-review panel and accepted one-match suspensions imposed by a specially-convened panel.
