Kieran Foran: Identified Sam Tomkins as a threat to New Zealand
New Zealand half-back Kieran Foran says Sam Burgess is not the only England player his side need to nullify if they are to reach the World Cup final.
It has been suggested that the contest between South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Burgess and Sydney Roosters rival Sonny Bill Williams will be crucial to the outcome of Saturday's semi-final at Wembley.
However, Foran believes England have other players besides Burgess who can hurt the reigning World champions, including full-back Sam Tomkins.
"Sam Tomkins is a danger, he seems to be their X-factor, Sinfield controls them and gets them round the park," said Foran.
"Then you've got Rangi Chase off the back of that who can offer a bit of razzle-dazzle as well.
"I think Sam Burgess is a really big leader of their pack, so we're going to have to do a job on him.
"Everyone's been in great club form, we've hit our straps running and we're playing the sort of footie we need to be at this point.
"But we're not taking anything for granted, against a great England side.
"We've got a massive forward pack that can also play the ball, but it's our jobs as halfs to get the structures going to allow them to do that, and move the team around."
Foran accepts that England will be motivated by a sizeable home crowd at Wembley but feels his side are prepared.
"It's going to be a massive crowd right behind England and we're going to be up against it," he added. "But we haven't really had a home crowd yet anyway, so we're pretty used to it now.
"We've got to put that out of heads and try to put together a strong 80-minute performance.
"We've got nothing to lose now: it's do-or-die footie, it's what you play for, these big games.
"We want to be here to win this tournament at the end of the day. So we've got to throw everything that we've got at them."
