Four players from National Rugby League champions Melbourne Storm have been included in Australia's squad to face arch-rivals New Zealand this month.

Second-rower Ryan Hoffman was rewarded for his excellent season with inclusion alongside the Storm's big three of Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk and skipper Cameron Smith.

Melbourne claimed this year's NRL title over the weekend with a 14-4 victory over the Canterbury Bulldogs.

But in-form Bulldogs stars Ben Barba and Josh Reynolds were left out of the Kangaroos line-up, with Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah filling the utility role.

The end-of-season Test is played in Townsville on October 13.

Australia squad: Billy Slater (Melbourne Storm), Darius Boyd (Newcastle Knights), Josh Morris (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Greg Inglis (Canterbury Bulldogs), Brett Morris (St George Illawarra Dragons), Johnathan Thurston (North Queensland Cowboys), Cooper Cronk (Melbourne Storm), Matt Scott (North Queensland Cowboys), Cameron Smith (Melbourne Storm - cpt), James Tamou (North Queensland Cowboys), Greg Bird (Gold Coast Titans), Paul Gallen (Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks), Nate Myles (Gold Coast Titans), Robbie Farah (Wests Tigers), Ryan Hoffman (Melbourne Storm), David Shillington (Canberra Raiders), Tony Williams (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles), Ben Te'o (Brisbane Broncos).
