Castleford coach Daryl Powell has revealed hooker Scott Moore played in Sunday's 36-28 victory over Catalans Dragons with a broken foot.

Moore used pain-killers to get through the game before discovering the break 48 hours later, and Powell paid tribute to the player.

"Sunday was a pretty tough effort from Scott. He's just as tough as teeth and I thought he was awesome in the game,” said Powell.

"He had three pain-killers before the game and three at half-time – and actually trained the day after he did it.

"He only had a scan (on Tuesday) and he's just found out that it's broken."

Castleford's other hooker, Adam Milner, is available after suspension for Friday's trip to Wigan but Powell expects Moore to be able to return for the Challenge Cup tie at Hull a week later.

"We're expecting him to be gone for just a week," Powell added.
