Castleford prop Ryan Boyle will return to action from serious injury in Sunday's pre-season friendly against Doncaster at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The 27-year-old is likely to play his first game since April 2014 following reconstruction surgery on his knee.

Boyle has already been informed he is in Castleford coach Daryl Powell's 22-man squad for the game, and he is relishing the opportunity top play.

"I'm excited and a little bit nervous after such a long time on the sidelines but I am just looking forward to getting the Cas shirt on and getting out there on Sunday," Boyle said.

Boyle started his career with Cas in 2006 and returned to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle in 2013 after three years with Salford.
