Castleford have added plenty of new faces during the winter months as head coach Daryl Powell looks to get the Tigers roaring again. A big season lies ahead as they bid to retain their top-flight status.

Phil Clarke predicts:11th

The last two seasons have been disappointing for the Tigers fans. Realistically, it's going to be very tough for them to finish in the top six places in the table after 27 rounds. However, the second half of 2013 looked like things were picking up when they won more games than they lost. That improvement came on the back of an amazing uplift in their attacking play. They scored 30 points or more in 12 of their last 14 games. The challenge for 2014 is to stand behind their own goal posts on fewer occasions. On average they conceded six tries a game last year, drop that by two and their fans will feel a lot better, I promise. PLAYER TO WATCH: Daryl Clark. The whole squad need to combine and find a collective way of doing what Rangi Chase did for them last year. He was the catalyst and responsible for at least 33 per cent of the tries scored. It's possible that the rest of the players didn't play to their full potential as they sat back in the shadow. I like the TANK on the FLANK, Justin Carney and Andy Lynch is one of the most consistent performers but Daryl Clark is special, really special.
