Castleford chief executive Steve Gill has revealed he is considering an offer of help from former Tigers coach Stuart Raper.
Raper has told the Super League club he is willing to help out caretaker coach Danny Orr while the club looks to appoint a permanent successor to sacked coach Ian Millward.
The 48-year-old coached Castleford from 1997 to 2001 before a spell in charge of Wigan Warriors, but he has been out of coaching since 2006.
Gill said: "The first approach came from Stuart and we are considering it at the moment.
"He knows Danny, he has got a lot of affection for the club and he's keen to help us if he can."
