Widnes have announced Grant Gore and Declan Hulme will leave the club at the end of the season.

Gore, who has made four Super League appearances for the Vikings this year, and Hulme, have been playing on dual-registration with Championship club Whitehaven.

Widnes coach Denis Betts said: "I would like thank both Grant and Dec for their efforts in the Widnes Vikings jersey.

"It has been a pleasure working with them both and I wish them all the very best for the future."

Gore said: “I have loved every minute playing for the Vikings. As a kid all I wanted to do was play Super League. My time at the Vikings has allowed me to achieve that goal.

"While things have not worked out 100% as I would have liked and I am not going to play for the Vikings for the rest of my career, I am grateful to everyone at the club for the opportunities I have been given.

"Having had such a great experience at Widnes Vikings I will be a supporter of the club in the future and I really hope to see the club challenging at the top.”

Hulme said: “I am grateful for my time at the club. I understand that I need a change and more game time to develop my game further. I hope to have next year sorted in the coming weeks.”
