The boys are back and ready to tear into each other once more as they go head-to-head with their Super League predictions.

On the pitch, Barrie McDermott and Terry O'Connor liked nothing better than tearing into the opposition.

They may have hung up their boots but that competitive streak still runs strong and we have found a way to channel their energies.

The boys are back and ready to tear into each other once more as they go head-to-head with their Super League predictions.

Each week they will give their predictions for the Super League games; they will score one point for a win and if they both pick the winner, then the pundit with the closest score gets an extra point.

Last year, McDermott pipped O'Connor to the title, and although Terry demanded a recount, he finally conceded that Barrie was the rightful winner.

Let battle commence!

Current standings

BARRIE - 46

TERRY - 52

Wakefield v Wigan: 7.30pm, Thursday, Sky Sports 3 HD

Live First Utility Super League

Terry says: I'm already feeling sorry for Wakefield. James Webster's men are at the foot of the table with just two league wins, but after eight straight league defeats they managed to get back to winning ways against Halifax in the Challenge Cup with a 44-16 win in their last game. I’m looking for positives or maybe some injuries for the Warriors but I can't see anything. When you look at Wakefield the lads are struggling numbers wise and have one of the smallest squads in the comp. Can they stand shoulder to shoulder and maybe catch out a Wigan side that may take the Wildcats lightly? Wigan are a physical, skilful side that hunt down opponents and smell blood. It's tough rugby and you learn hard lessons as a player and a coach. In a side that is expected to be in the shake-up at the end of the year this is a game that players will look to perform in and impress the coach.

Prediction: Last year Wakefield won this fixture but I can't see it happening this season, Wigan by 28.

Barrie says: Wigan were superb last weekend against Warrington. They are really on track to getting back to where they want to be and it could not have come as a worst possible time for Wakefield. Wakefield would have taken something out of scoring 44 points in the Challenge Cup against Championship side Halifax but it is a tough ask for them. Wigan are a determined to keep on climbing up the league ladder –they are currently third, seven points adrift from leaders Leeds and a point behind second-placed St Helens. Wigan’s forwards are looking very good and it could be a long day for Wakefield.

Prediction: I take no pleasure in saying this but I think it could be a 40+ win for Wigan.

Leeds v Warrington: 7.30pm, Friday, Sky Sports 1 HD

Live First Utility Super League

Terry says: How well did the Rhinos play last week at Langtree? I would say the first 40 minutes was the best from any team this year in Super League. The men from Yorkshire played with a high intensity from the kick off scoring within the first three minutes. Young Ash Handley had the game of his life scoring a first half hat-trick.

What a special game it is for Kevin Sinfield as well and I'm sure an emotional one. Kevin will join John Holmes, Fred Webster and John Atkinson on the 500-game mark, not really heard of in this day and age. A couple of weeks ago Warrington's points for was the lowest in the comp, now, thanks to a huge win versus Wakefield, they are second highest. Another good game against Wigan last week saw them go down 30-20 at the final whistle after trailing by just two points at the DW at half-time. This will be a good test for Warrington and one which the players will be well and truly up for. Your mindset as a player is to battle hard and prove the doubters wrong. Not many will fancy Warrington's chances at Headingley but that's mainly due to the red hot form that Leeds are currently in at present.

Ash Handley

Prediction: Leeds by eight.

Barrie says: Leeds were outstanding last weekend against St Helens. Even though they had two world class international wingers available, young Ash Handley came in and scored a hat-trick. That shows the quality that they have. Warrington pose a big threat to them though; Warrington can beat anyone on their day however their consistency has been lacking and they will be determined to set that right.

Prediction: Going to Headingley is always a daunting task and while I think Warrington have the tools to beat Leeds, I am going for a Leeds win by 12 points.

Catalan v Hull KR: 5pm, Saturday, Sky Sports 3 HD

Live First Utility Super League

Terry says: I think this is a must win for Catalan as they have not had the best of seasons. Their form has been far too erratic - one moment they are brilliant and the next they are very, very poor. It is not the return that their coach Laurent Frayssinous expects and he will certainly be demanding better.

Hull KR have played some lovely rugby this season – they may not have had the win success that we might have expected but they are a very entertaining side. Brian Carney recently asked me who I though the stand-out players this year were. To be honest I don’t think anyone has really stood out but Albert Kelly and Terry Campese have come the closest for me and have really shined for KR.

Prediction: I think Hull KR will go to the South of France and really throw the ball around. I back them to win by 12 points.

Barrie says: Catalan were very disappointing last weekend against Huddersfield. Don’t get me wrong, I though Huddersfield played very well, but Catalan did not show up. Laurent Frayssinous  is talking about getting consistency and getting his player attitude right. They really fall away in games and I do not know if that is because they are not fit enough or if it is a mental thing. Hull KR have so many threats all over the field and you have to be impressed with what they can do. Sean Lunt has added a lot of creativity around the play the ball and they have the big fellow Dane Tilse to help them carry the ball a bit more. I think Tilse adds a lot of size and I think that is what they have been lacking. It is always a test to go to Catalan but I think Hull KR will fancy their chances.

Prediction: It is going to be close but I think Hull KR will win this by eight points.
