Hull KR caretaker Chris Chester sees no reason why his squad cannot go to Headingley Carnegie on Friday and upset title-challengers Leeds Rhinos.
The Robins will make the short trip along the M62 full of confidence following an emphatic 40-10 success over leaders St Helens last Sunday in Chester’s first game in charge.
A win would be huge and there’s no better stage than Headingley to do the business.
Chester did his chances of landing the job full-time no harm with the victory over Saints and the 35-year-old wants to follow up the two-point haul with more against the Rhinos.
Leeds have one of the best backlines in the business even without suspended full-back Zak Hardaker and Chester knows his troops will need to match Brian McDermott’s men in order to secure a result.
“It would be massive for us to beat them,” Chester told the club’s official website.
“A win would be huge and there’s no better stage than Headingley to do the business. Leeds have quality all over the park but we know we can match them. We are a good team and we will focus on our own strengths.
“We’ve had a couple of days’ preparation and now it’s up to me to ensure the players turn up in the same mind set.
“Sunday’s game against St Helens was the perfect start. It was a great team performance and I am really proud of the players, but we have to back it up.”
