Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock retained a sense of perspective after seeing his side conjure up one of the shocks of the season in a 26-12 victory over Warrington.

Rovers recovered from a six-point deficit at the break to deny the visitors any second half points - while scoring 20 of their own.

"We're not getting carried away by this result. Warrington had quite a few players out and that stifled their attack."

Sandercock said: "We're not getting carried away by this result. Warrington had quite a few players out and that stifled their attack.

"But I want to give full credit to my players. The boys played well today after getting an even share of the play and penalties and we did some little things well."

His opposite number at Warrington, Tony Smith, admitted felt his side paid the price for not taking control and keeping the home crowd out of the game.

"We weren't quiet sharp enough and didn't start the game as we would have liked," he said.

"We did well to fight back and go in at half-time with a lead.

"When you come to Hull KR, it's a tough place to go to. It's a hostile environment unless you take good control but we didn't do that.

"But we'll lick our wounds and dust ourselves off for next week."
