Hull KR have completed the signing of Penrith Panthers half-back Travis Burns on a three-year deal.

The 28-year-old, whose NRL season was ended early by a 12-match ban for two separate incidents, will be a straight replacement for Wigan-bound Blake Green

Burns, who worked with coach Craig Sandercock at the Manly Sea Eagles, becomes the Robins' fourth confirmed signing for 2013 following the acquisition of Salford centre Sean Gleeson, North Queensland second rower Cory Paterson and Newcastle prop Evarn Tuimavave.

Wigan have yet to confirm the signing of Green, who has two years left on his current deal with Hull KR but is thought to have a release clause from the end of 2013 and the club have accepted a transfer fee.

Sandercock is a big admirer of Burns' aggressive style of play and feels he will add an extra dimension to the Robins play next season alongside Michael Dobson.Burns said: "Myself and my family are very excited about heading over to Hull KR.

"I've been watching a lot of the games on TV and I see a young team which is not far off being a real force in the Super League.

"Opting to join Hull KR was an easy decision for me as I know that the people of Hull are very friendly and love their football.

"Craig was also a big reason why I decided to sign. He was an assistant coach when I started my NRL career at Manly and I always knew he would coach at the highest level.

"The conversations I've had with him about his plans for me and the club going forward made my decision easy and I can't wait to pull on a Robins' jersey for the first time."

Burns will join up with his team-mates in November subject to the necessary visa and work permit paperwork being completed.
