Hull KR remain committed to developing their Craven Park ground despite speculation linking them with a move to the KC Stadium.
Rovers chairman Neil Hudgell has suggested the directors may not continue bankrolling the Super League club beyond this season unless serious progress is made in their plans to be build a new £8.2million North Stand.
The project - first proposed in 2008 - has been beset by delays in securing funding from the European regional development agency, leading to rumours that the Robins could instead look to ground share with their city rivals.
Assem Allam, owner of the KC Stadium management company and Hull City, has previously said he would welcome Rovers' move to the KC Stadium.
Optmistic mood
However, Hudgell was in optimistic mood after holding talks with Hull City Council leader Steve Brady and East Hull MP Karl Turner on Monday.
A club statement said: "There was plenty of positive dialogue and talks will remain ongoing between the club and the council in the immediate future with the aim being to move matters on as quickly as possible.
"The club remain committed to developing MS3 Craven Park in the long term but, until there are some definitives in place with a start date for the North Stand, all viable options will be actively explored.
"Fans can be assured we share their frustrations and any decisions that are made will be in full consultation with them and in the best interests of the long-term sustainability of the club."
