Catalans Dragons have signed French international utility back Tony Gigot until the end of the season.

The former Avignon player is back at the club after spending time with the London Broncos and in Australia with NRL side the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

Gigot made 22 Super League appearances between 2010 and 2011 during his first stint with the Dragons.

Gigot said: “I’m delighted to be back the club. I want to prove now I deserve this second chance.

“The club has really changed and I’m happy to be back at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium.”

Dragons head coach Laurent Frayssinous believes Gigot has improved during his time away from the team and he is hopeful the 24-year-old can make a positive impact.

Frayssinous said : “Tony has been one of the best players in the French championship this season.

“He has matured a lot since his first experience with the Dragons and is ready for this new challenge.

“He is a young French player with great potential and that's why we have chosen to give him that second chance. His signing will add depth and competition in the squad.”

The Catalans currently sit sixth in the Super League table with 13 points from their 14 games so far this season.
