Catalan Dragons’ Mickael Simon is relishing the chance to play for Wakefield in 2015 after agreeing a two-year deal with the Wildcats.

James Webster’s side confirmed the capture of the France international on Monday while the club are also adding Hull KR’s Craig Hall from next season.

Simon has spent his entire professional career in the south of France with the Dragons and he is looking forward to a fresh challenge at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old knows Webster well from the France set-up as he is assistant to head coach Richard Agar and the prop jumped at the chance to join Wakefield.

Opportunity

“I've had five good years at the Dragons,” he told the Dragons’ official website.

“I would like to thanks the club for giving me the opportunity to become a professional player.

“I’m 27 and I think I needed a new challenge at this stage of my career. I want to play as many games as possible. It was a good opportunity for me and I seized it.

“I would like to thanks the whole club and the fans for their support. I'm now focused on the end of the season with the Dragons.”
