Catalan Dragons have promoted five youngsters to their senior squad after announcing their numbers for the 2013 season.
Damien Cardace, Antoni Maria, Kevin Larroyer, Mathias Pala and William Barthau have been named in their list with the first named rated one of the top talents in the sport.
There are three other new names in the squad in off-season signings Brent Webb, Zeb Taia and Olivier Elima.
Coach Laurent Frayssinous said: "It's just numbers. If I could, I would have included six or seven other players from our reserve team.
"We have a lot of talented young French players who would have deserved to be in the squad and I know I can rely on them. They add some depth in the squad and create a positive competition."
