Catalans Dragons have bolstered their injury-hit squad with the loan signing of hooker Ben Fisher from Championship club Batley.

The 31-year-old will spend the opening two months of the 2012 season in Perpignan before returning to the Bulldogs, who signed the player this winter after he was released by Hull KR.

Fisher, who was born in Australia but played international rugby for Scotland, made 124 Super League appearances in five seasons with the Robins.

He will provide cover for regular hooker Ian Henderson at the Dragons after they lost Eloi Pelissier and captain Gregory Mounis to injury in last Saturday's friendly against top-flight rivals London Broncos.

"We felt we needed an experienced hooker to partner Ian Henderson over the next two months," said Dragons coach Trent Robinson.

"I value Ben's ethic as a player and as a person and know he will settle quickly into our system.

"A big thanks to Batley where John and Paul (Harrison) were understanding and very helpful in the process.
