Catalans Dragons coach Trent Robinson has been impressed with the start Leon Pryce has made to life in Perpignan.
The 30-year-old is the French club's first English signing in their seven seasons in Super League and enjoyed an impressive debut last weekend in the home win over Wakefield.
Pryce has been given the number three shirt by the Dragons but shone at his usual position of stand-off against the Wildcats.
Robinson is likely to give his big-name off-season recruit another run-out in his favoured role against London Broncos on Saturday.
"He was really impressive, really sharp with his carries, and he's in good physical shape," said the Australian coach.
"I was a bit worried how quickly he would fit into our structures but he looked comfortable."
Experimenting
Pryce's selection at No.6 meant French international stand-off Thomas Bosc switching to full-back and Clint Greenshields, who has been a mainstay in the number one jersey since 2007, moving to the wing.
Robinson is set to continue experimenting in his club's final trial game against the Broncos. They then kick off their campaign at Bradford on February 5.
"We've got three quality half-backs and they've all been training in the two positions," he said.
"The logical move would be for Leon to play at centre but Thomas grew up playing full-back and played there for UTC and Clint had a cracker of a game last Saturday at full-back and on the wing."
Veteran Australian forward Steve Menzies, who turned 38 last month, will play against London after being rested last weekend.
However, the Dragons are still without winger Damien Blanch, who is also doubtful for their opening league game after undergoing wrist surgery.
