Catalan Dragons warmed up for the new Super League season in style with an eight-try rout of Wakefield in the Jerome Guisset testimonial match in Perpignan.
Former Great Britain stand-off Leon Pryce caught the eye on his first appearance for the Dragons, while Wakefield's preparations for the new campaign were hit by a series of injuries.
The Wildcats' casualties included new signings Andy Raleigh (rib cartilage) and Danny Washbrook (hamstring) while forward Paul Johnson is expected to need dental work when the squad return to the UK after taking a blow to the mouth.
In addition, Matty Wildie missed the game after being taken ill overnight and Frankie Mariano withdrew with a badly-bruised big toe.
Quality
Despite the injuries and the result, Wakefield coach Richard Agar was pleased with his squad's week-long training camp in Perpignan.
"If we look at the bigger picture, then we got a lot done this week," Agar told the club's website www.wakefieldwildcats.co.uk.
"We covered a lot and in terms of volume it was a really hard week for the players.
"Today we played against a quality team who have been together for a year and we knew that it would be tough and that was the case.
"Some areas of our defence are going to need a fair bit of work. We got split down the middle far too easily at times and Leon Pryce really took advantage of that on a few occasions.
"We can't afford to do that but we're still learning and it will come."
