Winger Dominic Manfredi has agreed a new four-year deal with Wigan Warriors.

Manfredi, who made his debut in 2013, has played 19 times for the first team since joining the club’s academy.

The 21-year-old has scored 14 tries for the Warriors, including one during their Good Friday win against St Helens.

Coach Shaun Wane said: “I am very happy to get this deal done. Dom is a player that I really like. He works hard in training, gets his head down and always wants to improve.

“He’s exactly the kind of person I like to work with and he’s very talented too. Whenever he has played for me he has done well and I firmly believe that he has a big future in the game.”

Rugby director Kris Radlinski added: “We are thrilled to have secured the signing of Dom. He has never let us down in games and now he is adding genuine quality.

“He is a wonderful guy to work with. He comes in, works hard, goes home and then repeats every day. He is very popular with players and staff alike.”

And Manfredi who, as an amateur played for Leigh Miners, said in a statement: “To hear Shaun Wane praise me and say the things he has said is great.

“I will take any compliment off a coach that I respect as much as him. I have enjoyed my seven years at Wigan and it is an honour to wear the famous cherry and white shirt.

“I plan to keep working hard now, taking any opportunities that I get and giving Shaun something to think about.”
