Wigan half-back George Williams has signed a new four-year contract with the Super League club.

The 19-year-old, a product of the Warriors' scholarship programme, made his debut in a Challenge Cup tie against Leigh last year.

He has been a regular for the champions over the last two months and coach Shaun Wane is delighted to have signed him to a long-term deal.

"Make no mistake, we are the envy of many Super League clubs in getting

George's signature," he said.

"He fits perfectly into the Wigan culture with his behaviour on and off the

field and I look forward to sharing much success with George over the years."

Williams said: "I thoroughly enjoy the environment here and intend to repay the coaches' trust in me by working hard, continuing to improve and play my role in helping this team to achieve great things."
