Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane has confirmed star full-back Sam Tomkins will be fit for Friday's crunch Super League clash against the Huddersfield Giants.
The 24-year-old England international missed last week's slender 21-16 success over Hull KR due to a virus and the Giants come to the DW Stadium with a one-point lead at the top of the table.
It was only the third time Wigan had won in 11 games without the much-coveted Tomkins, who is being with a move to the NRL in 2014, over the past two seasons.
Coach Shaun Wane hopes to be close to full strength for the eagerly-anticipated Giants contest with captain Sean O'Loughlin and prop Ben Flower expected to pass fitness tests.
"Sam is good. He had a bit of food poisoning, a 24-hour bug. It was just bad timing," commented the Warriors coach.
"We have got a few little knocks and bruises that we'll need to check on. It'll be late on that I select my team - which is quite common.
"It is just that stage of the season - 20-odd rounds when you get week-in, week-out knocks."
