Wigan Warriors scrum-half Matty Smith is confident he can emulate the club's great number sevens and be successful.
One better
Smith was pleased enough with his 2012 campaign for Wigan, but hopes to go one better in the new season.
"Last season went better than I thought for myself," he added. "From day one the lads were brilliant with me.
"Tommy was a fantastic player and he and (Brett Finch) got the team into the position they were in, they did all the hard work, and to come in and play a couple of games at seven, I was happy with that.
"But I'm glad I've got the No.7 now and I can concentrate on running the team and getting them around the park."
