Huddersfield forward Brett Ferres has been given a five-match ban following his dismissal in the Giants' Tetley's Challenge Cup defeat to St Helens.
The 27-year-old England international was sent off 64 minutes into the fourth-round tie at the John Smith's Stadium on Sunday for a dangerous "spear" tackle on Saints full-back Jonny Lomax.
The Giants were leading 16-8 at the time but went on to lose the match 17-16.
Second-row Ferres was charged by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel with a grade E offence, to which he pleaded guility when he appeared in front of a disciplinary committee on Tuesday evening.
Ferres, who has featured in every game for Huddersfield so far this season, was also fined £300.
