Super League Man of Steel Danny Brough is on a three-man short-list for the 2013 international player-of-the-year award.

Australia centre Greg Inglis and New Zealand second row Sonny Bill Williams are also nominated.

Huddersfield skipper Brough enjoyed the best year of his career, guiding his club to a first league leaders' title for 81 years and then leading Scotland to the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

Inglis, who will be at full-back for Australia in Saturday's World Cup semi-final against Fiji, was the stand-out performer for South Sydney, who finished second in the NRL before going within a whisker of the Grand Final, and starred for Queensland in their State of Origin Series triumph.

Williams made a spectacular return to rugby league with Sydney Roosters in 2013 following five years in rugby union and boxing. He was the Roosters' star player as they won both the NRL Minor Premiership and Grand Final and has been a major figure for the Kiwis during their World Cup defence.

The men short-listed for coach of the year are all past or present Super League coaches. Wigan's Shaun Wane is competing with his predecessor Michael Maguire, who led South Sydney to their most successful season for generations, and former Catalan Dragons boss Trent Robinson, who guided the Roosters to Grand-Final glory in his first season back in the NRL.

Souths' England forward George Burgess is competing with Samoa full-back Anthony Milford (Canberra) and Kangaroos second rower Boyd Cordner (Sydney Roosters) for the title of rookie of the year and England's Richard Silverwood is vying with Australian duo Ben Cummins and Shayne Hayne to become referee of the year.

The coveted titles will be awarded at the Rugby League International Federation dinner in Manchester next Wednesday.
