Leeds Rhinos scrum-half Rob Burrow is tipping Huddersfield to go all the way in 2013 after the Giants began the new season in style against St Helens.

The 30-year-old England international, who helped the Super League champions to a 36-6 success over Hull FC on Friday, was highly impressed with Huddersfield's 40-4 win at Langtree Park a day later.

The Giants have made impressive starts in recent seasons before falling away, but Burrow feels things will be different this time around for the John Smith's Stadium club.

Paul Anderson's men were impressive from start to finish against a below-par Saints and the Leeds playmaker believes that come October the Giants will be contenders to feature at Old Trafford.

"Huddersfield always start well. I think they are going to be strong this year. They've got a few points to prove."

When asked who impressed in week one of the new Super League season, he told Sky Sports: "The obvious ones for me were Huddersfield, who went to St Helens as underdogs and got a great win. It was a comfortable win there really.

Point to prove

"Huddersfield always start well. I think they are going to be strong this year. They've got a few points to prove.

"The signs they showed at St Helens on Saturday just shows they can be a force. I think they'll be involved in the play-offs right up until the end.

"Bradford were very good against Wakefield, who are improving this year. It's really open this year. Each year there are teams that are climbing up the table who are finishing lower than usual. It's exciting."

Leeds ran out impressive winners against the Black and Whites at Headingley and Burrow says the champions are keen to make a fast start on the back of fifth-place finishes in the last two seasons.

Hull FC were without big close-season signing Gareth Ellis after he limped out of the pre-match warm-up, but Burrow still thinks the Black and Whites will be one of the teams to beat this season.

"It was a big, big game. We know we wanted to start well this season. It's always good to get a good start to Super League. It's been a long off-season," he continued.

"Training's been great, but we needed to get out on the park and play against some quality opposition. We wanted to put in a good performance and thankfully we got the good win.

"Hull are always a strong side every year, especially this year. They've recruited really well. There were signs in the first half when it was six-all what a quality side they could be.

"The disappointment of losing Gareth Ellis in the warm-up was a big loss to them. They'll be looking forward to getting him back and when they do they'll be a force."
