Huddersfield Giants vice-captain Brett Ferres hopes Saturday's emphatic victory over St Helens at Langtree Park can lay the platform for a successful season.
The Giants stunned Nathan Brown's men on home soil on Saturday with an improbable 40-4 triumph over a team many expect to challenge for the League Leaders' Shield.
The win has given everyone in Paul Anderson's squad a boost and up next are the London Broncos, a team which Ferres believes Huddersfield can garner more points from.
"The manner of that win over Saints has given us all a massive amount of confidence," Ferres told the Huddersfield Examiner.
"We were confident going into the game, because we knew how well pre-season training had gone. But that performance just backed up what we already thought, and it was a tremendous feeling.
"Obviously, our challenge now is to build on what we did and make sure there's a snowball effect rolling into the rest of the season.
"We've set a strong platform straight away, and now it's up to us to build on it. That's our main aim for the London game on Sunday, and we see no reason at all why that won't be the case.
"The first home game of a season is always exciting, and it would be fantastic to put in a great performance in front of a big crowd. After what everyone saw at Saints the other night, there's no reason why that won't be the case."
