Huddersfield Giants winger Jermaine McGillvary cannot wait for the 2013 Super League campaign after undergoing successful post-season ankle surgery.

The powerful 24-year-old was severely hampered by the problem at the back end of last season - something he insists had a big impact on his performances.

McGillvary is due to finish his rehab programme this week and join the full squad for pre-season training next Monday and he is looking forward to training injury free.

"I can't wait to be working again without any pain."

"The last few months of last season were tough," he told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

"The injury had a serious effect on what I could do, both in terms of training and playing. But that's behind me now.

"My surgery went well and my rehab's gone well, so now I'm really looking forward to testing myself out with the rest of the boys on the training field.

"To be honest, I can't wait to be working again without any pain."
