Bradford will give a debut to Ireland international Anthony Mullally against Wakefield on Thursday after signing him on a month's loan from Huddersfield.

The 22-year-old former Widnes prop is the Bulls' second loan signing in a week following the arrival of Warrington back rower Danny Bridge, and will help offset the loss of Garreth Carvell, who joined Hull FC.

"We've got Anthony Mullally for a month, that's a positive for us," Bradford coach Francis Cummins said.

"He's a good player, it's just that he's with a really good squad so he'll struggle to get game time. Maybe we can offer him a bit of that.

"He's still only young but he's got Super League experience and that's what we need. He is a player that we as a club have been monitoring for some time now."

"He's still only young but he's got Super League experience and that's what we need. He is a player that we as a club have been monitoring for some time now."

Mullally, whose last competitive appearance was for Ireland against Australia in the World Cup, goes straight into Cummins' squad as a replacement for Tom Olbison, who suffered concussion during last Sunday's opening 36-18 defeat by Castleford

"This is a big opportunity for me," said Mullally, who met his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday.

"I cannot wait to get out there. If I can impress and play well, hopefully I will be able to play a fairly key role over the next few weeks.

"The boys have been great with me today and the atmosphere is fantastic."

Speculation

The Bulls are being linked with a host of players following the departure of Carvell and Australian half-back Jarrod Sammut, two of their highest-earners, but Cummins ruled out a move for Castleford's former Hull, Brisbane and New Zealand Warriors scrum-half Brett Seymour.

"We're not even ratified as a club so I can't bring any foreign player in," Cummins added.

Bradford are still waiting for the club's ownership issues to be resolved and are expected to discover by the end of the week if they are to lose points as a result of going into administration.

Meanwhile, Sammut will go up against his old Bradford team-mates on Thursday after completing his move to Wakefield.

The former Crusaders player met an 8am appointment in Cardiff to get his visa changed and goes straight into the Wildcats' squad as a replacement for the injured Jimmy Keinhorst.

"We've got his work visa altered," said Wakefield coach Richard Agar. "We've yet to see him training in our camp but he'll have a brief run on Wednesday.

"He's ready and, while he may be under-prepared, he will be ready for whatever gets thrown at him.

"He's got to play Bradford some time and it doesn't give him much time to think about it."
