Danny McGuire: ensured Leeds would not be beaten in his testimonial against Bradford on Sunday
Danny McGuire fittingly made his mark on his testimonial match with a late try to complete a remarkable comeback and earn Leeds a 24-24 draw with Bradford at Headingley.
The Bulls made the better start and had the Super League champions in somewhat of a hole after moving into an 18-0 lead at Headingley Carnegie.
Jarrod Sammut did the damage in the first half with two tries, both converted by close-season signing Jamie Foster from St Helens.
Things went from bad to worse for Leeds as ex-Rhino Nick Scruton burst through the defence and picked out Brett Kearney who touched down near the post. Again Foster converted.
Leeds did hit back before the end of the half with utility back Joe Vickery touching down twice, however, two missed conversions from Kevin Sinfield ensured the Bulls left by ten.
Kearney's second of the game coupled with Foster's conversion meant the Bulls left 24-14 with 14 minutes of play, but Leeds had the final say.
Tries from Ryan Hall and McGuire, Sinfield converted the latter, to ensure the spoils were shared in the West Yorkshire derby.
