Brendan Guilfoyle insists Bradford Bulls' players will receive their wages by Wednesday at the latest following a payment problem.

The squad were due to be paid on Monday night, but an e-mail from P & A Partnership - the administrators currently running the club - revealed they would not be received as expected.

Guilfoyle is unhappy a confidential e-mail made its way into the public domain, stating the issue with the players' salaries has now been rectified.

Disappointed

"The issue has now been resolved and the players will receive payment today or tomorrow."
Brendan Guilfoyle Quotes of the week

He told the Telegraph & Argus: "I'm disappointed with the fact that League 13 appear to have leaked a confidential e-mail but the issue has now been resolved and the players will receive payment today or tomorrow.

"It's a non-story as far as I'm concerned."

Guildfoyle added: "We alerted the players to the fact that their wages might not be paid on time last night, because our funding at the moment is coming from Super League (Europe).

"While there was a delay, we told the players of this but also told them they would still be paid. Reports of non-payment are not true."

Ernie Benbow chief executive of players union League 13 has hit out at the lack of communication between the club's administrator and the players, calling for the RFL to intervene.

"This is the final straw and I can only imagine the way the players are feeling right now," stated Benbow.

"They've done everything asked of them on the pitch and now, having been constantly kept in the dark by the administrator, have now learnt that they have not been paid.

Breakdown

"The communication from the administrator has been poor from the start but now there has been a complete breakdown.

"That is a failing on behalf of the administrator, who never seems to answer his phone, with players often picking up information second hand.

"The players are the faces of the community in Bradford and rugby league in general and they are delivering on all fronts despite the uncertainty that surrounds their continued employment with the Bulls.

"We are now calling on the administrator to work with the RFL to ensure the players are paid immediately."
