Bradford Bulls coach Mick Potter is hoping to return to Australia after being made redundant by the club's administrator.

The former Catalan Dragons and St Helens boss is out of work after being sacked earlier this week along with his coaching staff as part of cost-cutting measures at Odsal.

Potter has since returned with assistant coaches Francis Cummins and Lee St Hilaire for free to prepare the team for Sunday's clash against the London Broncos.

"I'll probably need to get back to Australia somehow in the near future."

But the 48-year-old insists his return to the Bulls is only a 'short-term' solution and that he has been sounding out potential work in Australia.

Move on

"It's not a long-term solution," Potter told Sky Sports News about coaching the Bulls this weekend, "but for this weekend we weren't doing anything else.

"I'll probably need to get back to Australia somehow in the near future.

"I've been making contact with some people to try and secure some employment elsewhere in the near future.

"When you get made redundant like this you don't have any income and you're working on your savings.

"It's a short-term thing for us. We need to try and move on and get re-employed somewhere else."

Unknown

There has been renewed talk of fresh investment at Bradford, although Potter only knows what is being speculated in the press and has heard nothing from administrator Brendan Guilfoyle.

"I've had very limited contact with the administrator," he continued. "No one has spoken to me about what's happening.

"There's a lot of speculation and that's what I'm hearing. It's all hearsay."
