Salford have, as expected, confirmed the signing of Rangi Chase - and have also revealed the capture of fellow England international Gareth Hock.

The arrival of Chase comes as no surprise after Castleford announced on Wednesday that they had agreed a deal with an unnamed club. The City Reds - who will become the Red Devils next season - had long been linked with the New Zealand-born half-back.

"I am really excited about the prospects for this season. It is going to be one hell of a ride."

Hock, though, was seemingly due to head to the NRL at the end of the 2013 campaign, having penned a contract with Parramatta Eels.

However the second rower, who has spent this season on loan at Widnes from Wigan, has pulled out of that move for personal reasons, instead becoming one of 12 new additions by ambitious Salford owner Marwan Koukash.

"We have recruited some great experience with our international players," head coach Brian Noble said at a press conference held in front of 450 fans and corporate guests at the Salford City Stadium.

"We have also added some exceptional young talent from home and abroad and we are adding these to some of our existing players who have performed admirably this season.

"I am really excited about the prospects for this season. It is going to be one hell of a ride."

Tommy Lee will also be at Salford next year after London Broncos agreed to release the 25-year-old from his contract so he could return north.

The club had already confirmed current Warrington captain Adrian Morley, while they agreed a fee with Wakefield for scrum-half Tim Smith at the weekend.

Both Francis Meli and Tony Puletua will make the short move from St Helens and Jason Walton and Greg Johnson have been handed the chance to make the step up from Championship side Batley Bulldogs.

Salford, who could still yet finish the regular season with the wooden spoon, also looked overseas for their new recruits, adding Jake Mullaney, Junior Sa'u and Steve Rapira, as they look to make a major impact in 2014.

The new additions may not stop there; Noble admitted he had missed out on some of his targets but still had high hopes bringing further players in.

"We pretty much got most of the people we identified but hopefully there will be a couple more to come," he added.
