London Broncos ace Julien Rinaldi has announced he will retire at the end of the season.

The Frenchman will call time on his career after the club's final Stobart Super League game of the season against Hull KR.

The 33-year-old had spells with Catalans Dragons, Harlequins RL, Wakefield and Bradford Bulls before moving to London Broncos in 2012.

"I started thinking about retiring when I was struggling with an ankle injury earlier in the season," he told the club's website.

Hard decision

"I managed to come back from that but it's been a long time now I've been playing professionally and my body is telling me that it's time to stop.

"It's been a hard decision to make. There's a really good group of people at the Broncos but I wanted to do the right thing by the club and myself.

"I'd like to thank everyone at the Broncos including the supporters that have stuck with us through a tough season."

Broncos head coach Tony Rae added: "He's a terrific man and a terrific player. It's easy to tell he is French, like a good Red he just keeps on getting better with age."
