The London Broncos have confirmed academy player Jack Brennan has died following a long battle with cancer.

Brennan played for Greenwich Admirals and was selected to represent the Broncos at scholarship level before gaining an academy contract with the Super League club.

The Broncos will hold a minute's silence before Friday's top-flight clash with the Warrington Wolves and the players will also wear black armbands to honour the youngster's memory.

Battle

"The London Broncos are very sad to announce that academy player Jack Brennan passed away on Friday after a long battle with cancer," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

"Last year 300 people walked from the Stoop to Greenwich to raise money for him and his family. The club and all who knew and loved him have lost a great bloke and a true team-mate.

"A book of condolences will be available in the King's Bar on Friday for those who wish to leave a message."
