Scans have revealed that Joe Vickery has not fractured his ankle, but the Leeds winger could still be set for a spell on the sidelines.
Vickery was making his Leeds debut when he hobbled out of the Rhinos' win over Hull FC on the opening night of the Super League season.
Initial fears of a fracture have now been dispelled but no timescale has been out on his recovery yet as the possibility of ligament damage remains.
"I am pleased for Joe that it is not a fracture. The medical staff will work closely with him now to make sure he rehabilitates correctly and gets back out on the field as soon as he is 100%," Rhinos head coach Brian McDermott told the club's official website.
The exact extent of the injury and time it will take to recover from should be known later in the week.
